Thank You and I Love You

Opening:
Today we are going to talk about the origin of Father's Day, why Father's Day in Taiwan is on August 8th, and how we can celebrate Father's Day.
The origin of Father's Day:
In Washington State, in 1909, a lady named Sonora Louise Smart Dodd was celebrating Mother's Day and she suddenly had an idea: "Why is there no Father's Day?"
Mrs. Dodd remembered She and her five younger brothers were all brought up by their father, William Smart, because their mother passed away when they were young.
Many years later, their father unfortunately died of illness.
In order to commemorate her father’s contribution to this family, Mrs. Dodd wrote a letter to the state government, hoping to use the festival to thank and commemorate the great fathers in the world.
Her father's birthday, June 5, was used as a commemorative festival.
The state government of Washington State has also adopted this suggestion and set the state's Father's Day as the third Sunday in June each year.
Since then, not only the United States but also about 76 countries and regions, including Japan, Eurasia, Hong Kong, and Macao, have celebrated Father's Day on the third Sunday in June.
Why is Father's Day in Taiwan on August 8?
Taiwan's Father's Day originated in commemoration of the soldiers who died in the Anti-Japanese War on August 8, 1945.
Because most of the soldiers were fathers, Taiwan took the homonym "Daddy" and set Father's Day on August 8th.
How to Celebrate Father's Day
-dinner
-gift giving, writing cards
-Send flowers: You can send "red roses, white lilacs, dandelions, sunflowers, and dendrobium orchids" to express your love to your father.
No matter it is a card, a gift, or a simple meal, cherishing every moment with your family is the most important thing.
Therefore, on this special day, remember to say Thank You and I Love You to your dad
Happy Father's Day to all fathers!
